To connect your HubSpot account to Platform you will first need to create a private app and then use the app access token to create a Platform credential. During this process you should reference the Hubspot documentation on creating a private app and viewing the access token. You must have super admin privileges in HubSpot to create or manage a private app.
- Log into your HubSpot account which has super admin privileges in HubSpot
- Follow the HubSpot Documentation to create a private app
- Log on to your HubSpot account.
- Click the Gear icon in the top right to navigate to “Settings”
- On the left menu, go to “Account Setup” -> “Integrations” -> “Private Apps”
- Click “Create a private app”.
- In the “Basic info”, tab:
- name this app something like “Civis-Imports”
- name this app something like “Civis-Imports”
- In the “Scopes” tab:
- Open the “CRM” dropdown
- Check the box for “crm.objects.contacts”
- Open the “Standard” dropdown
- check the box for “content”
- You should see both Scopes listed under “Selected Scopes”
- Open the “CRM” dropdown
- In the “Basic info”, tab:
- Click “Create app” in the top right corner
- Read the information about the access token and click “Continue creating”
- You will see a box that says “Your private app was created” along with your app’s access token which is partially obscured
- Click “Show token” then “Copy”
- Create a new Platform Credential
- Navigate to https://platform.civisanalytics.com/spa/#/credentials
- Click “Create Credential”
- Type: Custom
- Username: This must be filled in but the value does not matter. If unsure you can use “Civis-Imports”
- Password: the app access token copied in step h above
- Remote host: leave blank
- Click “Save”
