Match Targets are large tables of person-level data which have been optimized for matching with Civis Identity Resolution or Civis Data Match. They are usually Civis Data assets, although custom targets can also be created.
If you would like to learn more about Civis Data offerings, please see Civis Data Overview.
Custom Match Targets
Generally speaking, custom match targets are only worthwhile for extremely large data sets (50 million+ records) that are going to be matched against frequently (more than 5 times a month). If this describes your data set, please reach out to your Civis Account Manager to learn more about our recommendations and pricing for custom match targets.
Table Requirements
Once it has been determined that a custom match target makes sense for your use case, the next step is to create the database table you would like designated as a custom match target in Civis. The following fields are requested:
ID (primary key)*
First Name*
Middle Name
Last Name*
City
State (Province)
ZIP (Postal Code)
Street Number
Street Direction Prefix
Street Name
Street Suffix
Street Direction Suffix
Unit/Apt Number
Secondary Unit Number
Date of Birth (YYYYMMDD)
Phone Number
Wireless Phone Number
Email
Gender
Latitude
Longitude
*Primary key, first name, and last name are required. None of the other fields are required, but match rates will probably be very low unless there’s some sort of location field (e.g., at least zip or city+state). In general, the more info, the better.
You don't need to have all of those fields for the match target to be created, but providing as many of them as possible can improve your match quality. After creating the source table, reach out to support@civisanalytics.com for next steps.
